Dyson really gets into his movies. He becomes the character. Full time. Usually, I am also the main character - we’re both the character. Oh yeah, and we’re both men….
It pretty much started with Spiderman. Then Batman. Briefly Catwoman…
Lately, we’ve had a hefty helping of a little Indiana Jones:

Yes, I am a very bad parent. That is a real (albeit cheap) bull whip. (He’s only allowed to play with it under adult supervision. When he doesn’t have the real whip, a piece of rope or a belt or anything vaguely whip-like will do….)
Last weekend, Kel took the kids to see Superman Returns. Of course, Dyson switched to Superman. Once we get the DVD and he watches it repeatedly, I’m sure he’ll spend more time as Superman. But for now, he’s mostly Indiana Jones or Zorro.

Keira also likes to dress up. Further proof of my awful parenting is the fact that she watches Memoirs of a Geisha every night as she goes to sleep. (Yes, I let her use the portable DVD player in bed…)
So, of course, she has to BE a geisha. Cheesy accent, preparing tea. As far as I know, no sex though. (Thank goodness!)

The scarf wrapped around her waist has a big knot in the back…
She’s been asking when I’m going to Japan again. Apparently, the kimono is getting a bit small. (I bought it for her when I was in Japan in 2002…)
A couple of days ago, Kel was going through her closet, pulling out all of the clothes that didn’t fit (either physically or fashionably). Keira, of course wanted everything Kel tried to get rid of. Here she is in a couple of pieces that (unusually for Keira) don’t clash dramatically…

As you may notice, Keira will not show her teeth when smiling. She’s lost three of her front teeth and is ashamed of her smile. We try to tell her that there’s nothing wrong with missing teeth, and that her smile is still pretty, but she’s not going for it.
Dyson saw a tent when Kel took the kids shopping. Since then, he’s wanted to camp out. Kel acquiesced over the weekend. But she set the tent up close to the house for the inevitable midnight trips into the house. Keira didn’t join them. (She wouldn’t admit it, but I’m guessin’ she was a bit scared…)
I didn’t sleep outside with Kel and Dyson, but I did hang out around the "camp fire" and help make s’mores.

Dyson was quite fond of the s’mores…
